Welcome.
I have always scribbled, tried, built, and explored ideas. Wanting that answer to my question or just an understanding of how something works, looks, and feels was always my objective. How the senses react with emotions in reference to an object, large or small. I think that is what I enjoy most about creating the next “thing”. I expanded on that desire during my education process where I received my Masters degree in Architecture in 1999. Since that time, I have been exposed to both the residential and commercial aspects of architecture while employed by three different firms, which were all great experiences for me. Around 2007, I started getting some commission work for art. So in 2009 I set sail on my own in the hopes that I could mix together my desire to create more than just one product and combine my range of interests.
Architecture:
If I had to describe my “style” of work, I would have to say I don’t have one. I believe in letting the information come to me and at that point I will know what the answer is. What will make the most sense in the situation, has been my style guide. I have always believed in being flexible with any project in what it becomes, while at the same time helping clients find the best solutions to their questions or desires. I generally enjoy all styles of architecture and particularly when the object truly fits context and client. The stylistic character you will find in my work are clean, well organized, and unique space on the interior and exterior. I have been LEED certified since 2004.
Art:
Because architecture requires a certain regiment in its process, I allow the rest of my imagination be absolutely free within my artwork. I find it to be a great outlet and balance in my life. I find myself wanting to continually change in approach and concept, so my work tends to shift and evolve with subject and style, it is a natural process for me and is a great challenge. Through all the different expressions of my pieces, the emotional aspect is the most important in my eyes. I continually try and create something that will possibly evoke a strong sense or feeling in whomever may see it. That may be a positive or negative reaction, but the piece made something happen. That is my true objective, not in a shock value terms, but to possibly cause the viewer to finish the conversation the piece has started. This is how I see things in the world around me, my work is an attempt to share those thoughts or emotions with others.
Thanks and enjoy!
